Casserole Ministry

The Casserole ministry offers an excellent opportunity to combine fellowship, food, and faith. Volunteers are asked to provide a casserole. We have established areas of service as Hospital and Birth.

Hospital - For members who have been hospitalized and are not able to assume day-today routine, a casserole will be taken to them when they have returned to their home.

Birth - For members who have had a baby, (excellent outreach to young couples) a casserole will be taken when they are sent home. This could be combined with the baby welcome sign, rosebud, and baby testament which will be taken the Sunday after the baby is born if they are home.

Shepherds Committee

This committee visits, makes telephone calls or sends cards to our members that are shut-in, in nursing homes or in need of TLC.

Telecaring

The short duration of hospital stays make telecaring an effective means of reaching out to the congregation. Phone calls are made at least once a week to members after hospitalization to express care and support during their convalescence until they are able to return to church. Phone calls are also made to members who are experiencing other kinds of difficulties in their lives to show concern and support.

Hospital-to-Pew

The Hospital-to-the-Pew program expanded our caring from just visiting members who were hospitalized to continuing to follow up and care for them after they went home from the hospital until they were able to return to church. This is done primarily through telecaring, but in some instances home visits are made, depending on the situation.

Parish Nurse

To empower people to take control of their own whole health and well-being, mind, body and spirit. Working together we shall encourage physical and spiritual healing both for ourselves and each other.
